That said, interpreters also had to overcome challenges unique to interpreting in the research environment, such as deciding when and how to interpret. Webdeaf student's speech intelligibility was associated with more positive perceived personal qualities by their hearing peers. Furthermore, the group that had contact with their deaf peers associated more posi-tive qualities of those with poor speech intelligibility compared with students who did not have this con-tact.
